The Lyn\u00e4s Fort was built during the years 1914 to 1916.<\/p>\n

The Lyn\u00e4s Fort<\/p><\/div>\n

It is a concrete casemate building containing depot, crew room, mine station, etc .
\nThe fort was surrounded by a wet moat, which was\u00a0 protected by a caponiere with machineguns at the northern end of the moat. On the north and east sides, there are\u00a0 ramparts with concrete machinegun positions.
\nA bridge on the south side gave acces to the fort.<\/p>\n

The Lyn\u00e4s Fort was supposed to protect the minefields at the mouth of the Isefjord and preventing the entry of enemy units into the Isefjord and the Roskilde Fjord.<\/p>\n

The artillery was located on top of the casemate building. It\u00a0was lined up on concrete emplacements with a main firing direction from northwest to southeast.<\/p>\n

The main armament of the fort in 1918 consisted of two 120 mm cannons, four 75 mm cannons and 24 machine guns.
\nIt was staffed by 200 artillerymen from the coastal Artillery Forps.
\nThey were for the most part accommodated in the barracks outside the fort itself.<\/p>\n

In 1949, the fort ceased to be a active battery and became a education\u00a0 fort for the coastal Artillery Corps.<\/p>\n

In 1962, the fort was decommissioned.<\/p>\n

Today it is private property.<\/p>\n
